CHOSHI HANE TAIKO
(Japanese Drums)
ChoshiHane-Taiko,one of the Intangible Cultural Assets of Choshi-city, is a matsuri festive Taiko handed down through generations in Choshi-city from the Edo Period.
ChoshiHane-Taiko is characterized by its unique way of p1aying Taiko. Two players hoist a Taiko with their necks and chests. They play Taiko and jump alternatively as they pivot around Taiko. The best part of Hane-Taiko is Nekase-uchi. One player lies on the ground while the oother holds Taiko on top of him. They keep playing Taiko powerfully as they crawl on the ground.
